There is no need for you to be a skilled engineer to learn how to make a solar panel. The objective of this article is to give you a step by step guide for building your own solar panel by using things which are not of any use to you and are thrown into the dustbin or by using things which you don’t have any need for currently. Spend a little time and find out something new from this article.

Things you need:

The things that you need are available in your own house and there is no need for you to take any extra effort in buying things for building a solar panel. Before learning how to make a solar panel, here is the list of items you would need for the same:

Ÿ  Rosin flux pen

Ÿ  Silicon caulk

Ÿ  Plexiglass sheet

Ÿ  Electrical solder

Ÿ  Paint brushes

Ÿ  Wire cutter

Ÿ  Copper wires

Ÿ  Machine to drill

Ÿ  Soldering gun

Ÿ  Wooden saw preferably the electronic one

Ÿ  Screw driver

Above mentioned are a few items that you need to use for making a complete use of the items that you need to build the panel from the scratch. Some of the scratch items that you would need are:

Ÿ  Tin wires

Ÿ  Plywood of desired measurement

Few things like UV protective varnish and solar cells need to be bought from hardware shops. If you have already used a solar panel then even this would not be necessary.

How to make a solar panel:

Ÿ  The plywood needs to be cut so that you can place all the solar cells in it and then paint the wood with the protective varnish.

Ÿ  Connect the cells using wires and solder them. Use the flux pen to apply flux on the connecting strips first.

Ÿ  With the silicon caulk attaches the solar cells to the wood.

Ÿ  Remember to drill two holes for the last two cells. Sealing the holes with silicon beads after feeding the wires through these holes is very important.

Ÿ  Drill holes on the plexiglass for placing the screws through it.

Ÿ  Support the plexiglass by building a frame for the same.

Ÿ  Using screws and silicon attach the plywood with the solar cells with the plexiglass.

Ÿ  The solar panel is now ready to use. You need to make sure that all the parts are assembled properly.

Now you have learnt on how to make a solar panel by yourself.
